~ n plural so-and-so's 1 an expression meaning a particular person or thing, used when you do not give their name (They're always gossiping about so-and-so having an affair with so-and-so) (- compare such and such) 2 a word meaning a very unpleasant or unreasonable person, used to avoid saying a stronger word, such as bastard (Peter can be a real so-and-so at times.)
